Jaipur By Rail

An excellent connection to Delhi is by the Shatabdi Express (four and a half-hour run). Other connections to Jaipur are from Bikaner, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Ahmedabad, Secunderabad and Lucknow, Kanpur, Agra, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. Trains originating from Jaipur link the city with Mumbai, Calcutta, Sawai Madhopur and Kota. The Jaipur Railway Station is in the heart of town and has computerised reserva¬tion facilities.

The reservation office is open Monday to Saturday, from 8 am to 2 pm and 2.15 to 8 pm on Sunday from 8 am to 2 pm is for advance reservations only. Reservations for freedom fighters and foreign tourists is done at Counter 769. For metre-gauge trains, the booking office is on platform.
