Chamba: Excursions Bharmour (65 km): once adorned with 84 exquisitely carved temples of which only about a score remain, bharmour is the erstwhile capital of chamba. At a height of 2,141 m, it is also the home of the semi-no¬madic gaddi people, a shepherd tribe. Manimahesh (93 km): this sacred lake (4,183 m) at the base of the manimahesh kail-ash mountain (5,656 m) is associated with shi¬va and is the site of an annual pilgrimage.
