Getting to Palampur
Palampur is 38 km from the district headquarters town, dharamshala, on nh 20 towards mandi, and 35 km from kangra town. Access options are common to both. However, by road from delhi another route is via ambala, ludhiana and phagwara (on nh 1), hoshiarpur, mubarakpur (joining with chandigarh-una-dehra gopipur route), kangra and palampur. Though 10 km longer (535 km), it offers easier driving on double-carriageway nh1 till phagwara.
Himachal road transport corporation runs a semi-deluxe coach from delhi (isbt) to palampur, via chandigarh, everyday.
