At the junction of national highways nos. 20 (pathankot-mandi) and 21(chan-digarh-manali), mandi is very well con¬nected to all parts of himachal pradesh and the northern region. Tourist taxis and auto rickshaws are the main modes for local commutation. Rates for more popular destinations are fixed and generally hold, except during the peak season. Taxis can be hired from the Taxi Operators Union Office near Tourist Office, The Mall, and taxi stands at the bus stand, Model Town, and other places in the town and suburbs.
