The 128 Sq Km (49 Sq Miles) Sanctuary Was Declared In 1958. It Is Only 32km (20 Miles) From Trivandrum And Is A Popular Place With Indian Tourists For Picnics. From Early Morning There Is A Bus About Every Hour To Neyyar Dam. On The 9 Sq Km (3 Sq Miles) Lake You Can Hire Boats. Even Though Elephants, Crocodiles, Sloths, Nilgiri Thar, Wild Dogs, Tigers ^D Leopards Are Supposed To Live Here, Don't Expect Too Much.
